The reason for her sickness was an aggressive strain of strep bacteria. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston placed her on ECMO support for lifesaving treatment. Her condition was a result of various organ malfunctions, which included failing kidneys. Her life became a new routine of hemodialysis and peritoneal dilution. Her return home was finally made after eighteen days in hospital, after a time when she was in danger of dying to the lengthy road to health. The way she lived her life was forever altered. Angelica's life was forever changed after she underwent dialysis of the kidney. Her mom would be the recipient. Angelica Hale, along with her mother underwent an organ transplantation procedure at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta as well as Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston on September 13 2013.
